Scope and Contents

Printed caption on verso reads "Arab village near the Pyramids. Palm trees shade one side of the pool where Arab women come to fill their graceful water-pots, and palm-trees grow among the red granite buildings where live and love, and work, and marry, and die, a race of Fellahs who have not much changed from the type of their ancestors who brought bread and water and dried fish and fresh fruit to the workmen employed in builting the Pyramids that we see behind the village."
Additional printed text on verso reads: "'Wide-Wide-World' Picturesque Egypt. Series XI. / Raphael Tuck& Sons 'OILETTE' Postcard 7441. / Art publishers to Their Majesties The King and Queen. Printed in England." Publisher's logo on verso.
