Additional handwritten text on front reads, "Clément Louis: 47ieme Battallion Sénégalais (S.H.R) Camp de Tiaroge, Sénégal, A.O.F. Bien chères cousines, nous voici arrivés à Dakar et de loin je vous envoie bien des caresses ainsi qu'à Papa. Amitiés sincères à Mr. Arnaud et bon souvenir à Mme Arnaud sa mère. Nous sommes ici peut-être pour 3 à 4 mois. Votre cousin qui vous aime et vous embrasse. Louis Clément."
Translated handwritten text on verso reads, "My dear cousins, Here we are arrived in Dakar and from far away I send you hugs as well as to Papa. Sincere regards to M. Arnaud and greetings to Mrs. Arnaud his mother. We are here perhaps for 3 to 4 months. Your cousin who loves you and sends all his love, Louis clement."
