Scope and Contents
Original caption reads, "THE ZAMBESI BRIDGE. VICTORIA FALLS." On Verso, "THE ZAMBESI BRIDGE is a master piece of engineering which spans the gorge of the Zambesi River immediately below the famous Victoria Falls, and conducts the Cape to Cairo Railway across this difficult barrier in its path. It is the highest bridge in the world, being situated over 400 feet above the low water level. The main parabolic arch has a 500 feet span and the total length of the bridge is 650 feet."
