Recto bears two small images. The one to the left is of a village. The one on the right is of a marketplace. Printed text on recto reads: "Vues de Porto Novo (Dahomey)." Handwritten text on recto, date reads: "24 août 1901."

Printed text on verso reads: "Carte Postale; Ce côte est exclusivement réservé à l'adresse." Address, postage stamp and two postmarks on verso. Manuscript on verso provides a translation of recto message.
