Translated postcard caption reads: "39. The "Kigoma" on the river Congo."
Manuscript message and address on verso, message reads: "Elisabethville. Le 16/XI/29. Cher frère et soeur. Bien reçu votre lettre du 8/10 écoulé et les trois photos qui s'y trouvait; et a votre santé car sur une je vois que vous êtes occupé a vidé des pottes. Ici c'est toujours la même chose voila un an le 25 que nous somme arrivé donc dans 9 jours, notre santé est toujour bonne. Nous somme en pleine saison de pluie, on nous annonce de tout coté que Louisa est en garde à vous. Nous lui souhaitons bonne chance et recevez cher frère et soeur nos meilleurs baisers."
Translated message reads: "Elisabethville. November 16, 1929. Dear brother and sister. Received your letter of 8/10 and three photos included, and good health to you since I observe on one of the photos that you are busy emptying pots. Here things are always the same. It will be one year on the 25th that we have arrived here, thus in 9 days time. Our health is still good. We are in the middle of the rainy season. We are told from every quarter that Louisa is standing by? We wish her well and receive dear brother and sister our best kisses."
