Manuscript message on recto, message reads: "Matadi, le 16 Septembre 1900. Chère Madame Orval, Par la présente je viens vous faire spécialement biens mes compliments ainsi qu'à ... Guillaume, Jacques et leurs petites familles, et vous prie de bien vouloir à l'occasion déposer pour moi quelques fleurs à la tombe de mon frère. Merci." Translated message reads: "Matadi, September 16 1900. Dear Mrs Orval, with the present postcard I come to pay you specially all my compliments as well as to .... Guillaume, Jacques and their little families, and beg you when the opportunity arrives to drop for me a few flowers on the tomb of my brother. Thank you."
