Printed caption on recto reads: "Oubangui. - Petite fille Yakoma portant sa chevelure de cordes. Les cheveux sont liés en petites tresses que l'on prolonge par des cordes de plusieurs mètres. Lorsque la fille sera mariée, le mari se servira des cordes pour confectionner ses filets de pêche. Jusqu'à ce moment la jeune fille portera ostensiblement le fardeau de sa dot." Translated caption reads, " Ubangi. -Small Yakoma girl wearing her hair in ropes. Ropes of several meters. When the girl marries, the husband will use the cords to make a fishing net. Until that moment the young girl will carry ostensibly the burden of her dowry."
Additional printed text on recto reads: "3; Cliché Bersia." Manuscript date and signature on recto. Postmarked postage stamps on recto and verso, date reads: "4 Avril 13."
