Manuscript address and message on verso, message reads: "Ma chère Ninie, Excuses-moi d'être rester si longtemps sans t'écrire mais je te dirai que depuis le nouvel an je n'ai pas encore été bien portante et la semaine dernière je suis encore restée au lit maintenant cela va mieux. Je commence à sortir et j'espère que cela ne reprendra plus. Je pensai bien aller vous faire une surprise le dimanche avant Pâques en allant diner avec vous tous mais ma santé m'ayant encore joué un vilain tour, j'ai donc du renoncer. J'espère que chez toi tout le monde va bien et que notre petite Andrée s'apprete déjà pour venir à Gilly avec Tante. Bien des baisers à Florent, Andrée et Tante et pour toi un wagon. Mon châle me fait grand plaisir et il est admiré de tout le monde mais seulement je n'ose pas dire qu'il n'est pas payé." Translated message reads, " My dear Ninie, Excuse me for remaining so long without writing to you but I must tell you that since the new year I have not been well and I spent the last week in bed. I am feeling better now, I am beginning to go out and I hope that I won't have a relapse. I had thought of surprising you on the last sunday before Easter by joining you all for diner but my health having played me another dirty trick I had to give up the thought. I hope all are well at your home and that our little Andrée is getting ready to come to Gilly with Auntie. Lots of kisses to Florent, Andrée and Auntie and for you a wagon. My shawl pleases me a lot and is admired by all but I dare not say that it is not paid for."
