Manuscript message and address on verso, message reads, "Banana,12-4-09. Mon cher Ernest, Je suis à Banana depuis hier soir. Le bateau prendra la mer demain midi; d'ici là il sera charger avec du café et des huiles. Tout va bien. Je suis en excellente santé. Affectueusement à toi ." Translated message reads, " Banana, 12-4-09. My dear Earnest, I am in Banana since yesterday evening. The ship will put to sea tomorrow noon; until then it must be loaded with coffee and oils. All is well. I am in excellent health. Affectionely yours."
