Printed caption on recto reads: "Sergent indigène et son domestique." Translated postcard caption reads: "Native sergeant and his servant."
Manuscript message and address on verso, message reads: "Chevilly, 22 Septembre 1910. Puisque je ne puis vous les envoyer de Kindu, je vous les expédierai des environs de Paris. Ils ne sont pas aussi gentils que les bretons et les portugais, mais après tout, ils sont de chez eux. Je suis bien arrivé à Paris. Je commence à me "réhabituer". Salutations respectueuses."
Translated message reads: "Chevilly, 22-9-1910. Since I am not able to send you those postcards from Kindu, I will do so from Paris. They are not quite as nice as the brits or the portugueses but, still, they were born here. Well arrived in paris. I am slowly getting accustomed again. Greetings."
Postmarked postage stamp on verso.
Printed text on verso reads: "Cette carte-vue se vend au profit de la Mission des Pères du St.-Esprit à Kindu, Congo-belge."
