Scope and Contents

Picture postcard printed by Lévy Fils et Cie; series 6504.
Printed text on recto reads: "6504 SCÈNES ET TYPES. - Mauresque voilée. - LL" Translated caption reads: [SCENES AND CHARACTERS - Veiled Moorish woman.] Woman wearing baggy trousers, embroided shirt, long veil falling down her back and a veil on her face, medallion headband with coins, long necklace and carved metallic belt. Translated verso reads: [glazed ceramic - If you could see this procession of young girls you would have a good time - Most of them wear the baggy pants down to the ankle, strawberry pink or almond green blouses, pony tails twisted in a sash which hides everything and makes it raise like a horn - Splendid eyes - Innocent look - they will be veiled at the puberty - I keep going into my appartment, it is late - I saw this morning the Essai garden- There is nothing like it in Paris - Louis XIV alleys and the sea from any view point - We have an admirable view from our windows (into our appartment) - A large part of the city goes down as an amphitheatre towards the sea- At the end the ''Ajurjurra'' - There is such a variety of colors that I cannot find a world to describe it - I would like to tell you all that I saw but ...]
