Postmarked stamps on verso. Postmark reads: "NIMES - 11 MAI 06." Additional stamp on verso, in red ink, reads: "JCB."
Manuscript on verso reads: "Ma chère Thérèse. Deux mots seulement pour te dire que je vais mieux, je mange un peu sans que cela me fasse mal. Cet après-midi maman m'a menee voir le Docteur Ménard lequel doit venir me voir demain matin au lit. Rassures mes maitresses surtout ma soeur Marie-Osmane. Demain maman écrira apres la visite du docteur. J'ai vu tes parents ils vont très bien et me chargent de t'envoyer mille baisers. Demain c'est la foire et je pense bien aller et à mon retour, te faire goûter les berlingots. A bientôt chère Thérèse. Mille caresses. Berthe." Translated verso reads: [My dear Thérèse. A couple of words to let you know that I am doing better, I eat a little and it doesn't hurt me.
