"An early capital of the Congo Free State and one of Zaire's three ports accomodating oceangoing ships, Boma lies on the north side of the Zaire River, about halfway between Matadi and the Atlantic Ocean." This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
