Scope and Contents
"Because of the size of the country and the poor condition of the roads, air transportation is an important link to parts of Zaire and at times has been used to transport minerals and food. The national Air Zaire (called Air Congo before 1972) provides regular service to 40 airports." [F. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17,1970.
