Scope and Contents
The Muchinga mountains are part of the Irumide fold belt which extends over a width of about 120 km along the line of the Great North Road between Kapiri Mposhi and the Zambia-Tanzania border. The photograph depicts guest house by District Commissioner Fox. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from January 8, 1947 to end of June 1947.
