Scope and Contents
Louis Trichardt (also called Makhado) is situated at the foothill of the historical Zoutpansberg mountain range in Limpopo Province at the Northern tip of South Africa. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from January 8, 1947 to end of June 1947.
