Scope and Contents

The photograph depicts Joseph and his father by a sign indicating the divide between the Nile and the Congo (Zaire) River watersheds. During his trip to Congo (now Democratic Republic of Congo), Elisofon visited Bunia and its surroundings, near Lake Albert. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
