Scope and Contents
"In the eight year of Ramesses III, the Sea Peoples again attacked Egypt; and scenes of the battles of this second war were carved on to the north wall of the main temple at Medinet Habu, showing that Ramesses deployed his forces to counter an attack which came both by land and sea." [Wilkinson R., 2000: The Complete Temples of Ancient Egypt. Thames and Hudson]. The photograph depicts relief displaying some of the Sea Peoples taken prisoner. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was working on "The Nile" project and traveled to Africa from March 14, 1961 to March 31, 1961, visiting Egypt.
