Scope and Contents
"Located on the west bank about 30km south of the High Dam, the Roman kiosk of Qertassi was moved in 1960 to the site of New Kalabsha. Although incomplete and for the most part uninscribed, the four internal composite columns and two Hathoric entrance columns of this small structure give it an extremely graceful appearance." [Wilkinson R., 2000: The Complete Temples of Ancient Egypt. Thames and Hudson]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for American Institute of Architects, directing the Egyptian portion of the documentary on Ancient Egypt, March 1965 and September 1965.
