Scope and Contents
The photograph depicts a police platoon by District Commissioner Fox and District Officer Wagner. The members of the platoon are messengers who are also used as a sort of police. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from January 8, 1947 to end of June 1947.
