Scope and Contents
Puff adders (Bitis arietans) occur from the Arabian Peninsula throughout most of Africa. The only areas in Africa from which they are absent are the true desert areas and tropical rainforest. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for American Broadcasting Company and traveled to Africa from June 1966 to early August 1966.
