Scope and Contents
The Marabou storks (Leptoptilos crumeniferus) frequent both aquatic and terrestrial habitats. They feed on any available animal matter, dead or alive, as well as eating refuse and fish waste. The Marabou is a common scavanger in East Africa. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
