The photograph depicts wife of Nyim Kot a-Mbweeky III reciting 'Ncyeem Ingesh', songs of the nature spirits, praising the monarchy. [Vansina J., 1978: The Children of Woot, The university of Wisconsin Press]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Westinghouse Film and traveled to Africa from October 26, 1970 to end of March 1971.
