Scope and Contents
"The Kundelungu section is a plateau and foothills characteristic of the Shaba (Katanga) Region. The western limit is formed by 400m cliffs which fall perpendicularly to the other main section, the Lufira River valley. The falls on the Lofoi River (tributary of the Lufira) are reputed to be the highest in Africa at 384m with a single fall of 347m." This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for National Geographic and traveled to Africa from January 19, 1972 to mid April 1972.
