Scope and Contents
"The Yangambi Reserve is situated within the Congo River Basin west of the City of Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Secondary forests, semi-deciduous secondary rain forests, rain forests, climax forests dominate the biosphere reserve. The site is very important from a biodiversity point of view since it hosts about 32,000 tree species." This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17, 1970.
