Scope and Contents

Justice Hurley, Emir of Katsina,Rev. J.L. Davies, vicar of Jos, and Mr. Justice Reed are attending the new Law Courts building dedication. The building houses the Chief Justice's Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Sharia Court of Appeal. [Eliot Elisofon's original field notes]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from August 18, 1959 to December 20, 1959.
