General

CDR copy FW-ASCH-7RR-2810 is one of the series of at least six tapes of interviews of Kiowa Indians recorded by Harry Smith (See above). It features Winston Catt, who relates a legend about the birth of a pair of twins and one of their lives, including digging a hole into Mother Earth, and conflict with a Spider Woman and the Devil. The tape terminates with some philosophizing. Winston Catt is included in the Folkways recording mentioned above (first paragraph), but nothing from this tape is included.
