FW-ASCH-5RR-0899 features the singing and guitar playing of Mary Ruth Johnson and her son, Jean Kenneth Johnson, performing modern white gospel songs. They were recorded by Jim Garland, who was from Appalachia in eastern Kentucky and who recorded various singers and church services from that area. Although not dated, I would guess that the tape was probably recorded in the late 1950's. Many of the songs are standards of the genre. See other sheets for track listings and durations. Poor recording.
