Local Numbers

General

CDR copy; copy exists in DAMS system FW-ASCH-10RR-0359, and -0360 contain Yiddish stories and poems read by Catalina Levinton, a professor from Argentina who recorded an album of stories and poems in Spanish for Folkways: Recital Poetico (FW09925), but nothing in Yiddish. The Yiddish poems and stories on these tapes are by prominent Yiddish writers, including Sholem Asch (father of Moses Asch), Itzhak Manger, Abraham Reisen, Abraham Sutzkever, Hyman Leivick, and others. Second "takes" are sometimes included. A list of included stories and poems, apparently prepared by Ms. Levinton, in both English and Yiddish, is in the tape box; a copy is enclosed in the jewel case. Small cards, also listing the stories and poems (but not as fully) and containing durations, in a different handwriting from Ms. Levinton's, are also in the tape boxes and will only be in the (new) tape boxes, as there is not enough room in the jewel case for them.
