Aubrey Thagard, Ward 8 Neighborhood Planning Coordinator with the Washington, D.C. Office of Planning, explained details of the comprehensive plan for the development of Washington, D.C., specifically Ward 8 neighborhoods; the process that went into creating the comprehensive development plan; and the plan's impact on Ward 8 neighborhoods. He talked about East of the River citizen activism; the history of housing and the current status of home ownership in Ward 8; and what is being done to increase home ownership in Ward 8. Thagard also explained his plans, goals, objectives, and future vision for Ward 8.
