Scope and Contents
Harriet Tregoning, the Director of Planning for Washington, D.C., explained details of the comprehensive plan for the development of Washington, D.C., including East of the River communities. She explained how the plan addresses fears of displacement through the building of affordable housing, and increasing employment and educational opportunities. Tregoning also talked about the Poplar Point development, environmental concerns for the city, New Communities Initiative, and the redevelopment of St. Elizabeth's west campus and east campus. She also described her future vision and goals for East of the River, particularly Ward 8.
