Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC 8A06) Jackie Lashley-Ward described her constituency; their concerns about the development in the community; urban blight in her community, and the most important issues for her constituency. She talked about the rising costs of housing and the significance of home ownership, including her journey to home ownership; actions she has taken to influence city council and the federal government; her work championing green building initiatives; a camping program for children to learn about the environment; her efforts in improving housing conditions and workforce development in her community; how she has supported the schools and education in Ward 8; and what her community means to her.
