She detailed her experiences while organizing and forming housing cooperatives, and the obstacles she and the community overcame in regards to securing housing cooperatives. Leaks talked extensively about housing, including public housing, rental housing, and mixed income communities, in Washington, D.C. She also detailed Empower DC's work with residents in Ivy City.
