General

This image is included in a series with other lantern slides relating to garden cities although it does not appear that any kind of garden city was planned for Ripley. However, a photograph of the cottages as built appears in John Hudson Elder-Duncan, Country Cottages and Week-end Homes (London: Cassell and Company Limited, 1906), p. 51. The lantern slide was made by H. E. Stanley, 290 Westminster Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
