General
The Washington-Virginia Railway was an electric streetcar line that ran between Mount Vernon, Alexandria, and Washington, DC. It probably issued postcards such as this one to promote its business. The railway ceased operation in 1932. For more information see https://www.alexandriava.gov/historic-sites/basic-page/wayfinding-electric-railway.
