General

Remodeling and construction of an addition to the house at this site led to new landscaping of the front and back of the property. In the front a new brick wall was constructed, an aging tree removed, and new plantings of shrubs introduced. In the back, the low boxwood Buxus microphylla var. Koreana was placed under a newly installed window. In harmony with the site's wooded setting Rhododendron carolinianum punctuated the hillside above the house.
Persons associated with the garden include Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and Dr. Claude E. Forkner, Jr. and Joanne Shirley Forkner (former owners).
