General
Lois W. Poinier began the design work for this garden on Whittredge Road in 1966. At the back of the house an existing flagstone patio was retained to provide one side of an "enclosed" lawn area. Foundation plantings and garden borders were installed and an existing hedge also served to enclose the space. The borders were highlighted by flowering bulbs and perennials in spring. Images include "before" shots as well as some taken of the mature garden in 1975. Virtually nothing remains of this garden due to construction of additions to the house.
Persons associated with the garden include: Lois W. Poinier (garden designer, ca. 1966) and Robert C. and Elizabeth W. Porter (former owners).
