General

Construction of a new house provided Lois Poinier with the opportunity to design all of the landscaping surrounding the property. At the back of the house a flagstone patio outlined by a stone wall lay adjacent to a grassy area outlined by a wooden fence atop railroad ties to hold the grade. On another side of the patio pea gravel created an open space and walkway. Dogwoods were among the many varieties of plants used in this area. At the front of the house The front of the house was more formally planted. Images show construction of the house, initial landscaping installation, and mature landscaping in multiple seasons and years.
Persons associated with the garden include Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and J. Murray Johnston and Nancy Wylie Johnston (former owners).
