General
A focal point for this garden was a small purple barn. Shrubs and ground cover plants were installed to soften yet highlight its dominance, such as a yellow witch hazel that bloomed very early in spring. A small brick patio provided seating under a mature shade tree, while another brick walkway led past the barn to a compost area. Brick edging served to design borders. There was even space for a small pool by the barn. Before and after images are included.
Persons associated with the garden include Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and William Porter Elliott and Marjorie Blackman Elliott (former owners). Marjorie Blackman Elliott was an active member of the Plainfield Garden Club for many years.
