General
Images in this series document the construction and landscaping of a new, rambler style house on a wooded site with a steep slope. A driveway on the level front of the house was complemented by the installation of spring flowering trees and some shrubs, while still leaving the area open to the sun. At the back the property sloped steeply into surrounding woodlands. Here a stone retaining wall and terrace provided an area for outdoor living and enjoyment of the surrounding trees and shrubs, including native azaleas. Images document construction as well as the completed landscaping at different seasons.
Persons associated with the garden include Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and David Cleveland Cory and Constance Thayer Cory (former owners).
