General

Lois W. Poinier's design for this small garden makeover included removal of overgrown shrubs, realighment of an existing brick walkway, and creation of a two-level lawn area defined by brick-edged beds. Although Poinier identified Sewickley as the garden's location, no connection to people named Berdan could be found in that community. Devon Road in Pittsburgh, however, is where John and Margaret Evans Berdan lived during the time period in which the the garden would have been designed and installed.
Persons associated with the garden include: Lois W. Poinier (garden designer) and John and Margaret Evans Berdan (possible former owners).
