General
The Indianapolis Museum of Art has several pavilions and a civic theater located in the Showalter Pavilion. The 150 acres was the estate of J. K. Lilly called Oldfields. In 1909, the advice of George McDougall, a Scottish Landscape Architect helped plan the border plantings, building sites and road- ways. Hugh McK. Landon selected a site overlooking the canal. The mansion was built in the style of a French chateau and was completed in 1914. Image is the propery of: The Indianapolis Museum of Art.
