The English country-style house at Mauchline was built in 1917. Elizabeth Bootes Clark was the landscape architect. The site is urban, on two levels, and has year-round interest. It was designed to be enclosed by a hedge and brick wall, with a small pool, surrounded by box-bordered flower beds, and a greenhouse.
