General
The home is located in the Sonoran Desert on a sloping hillside on an acre plus site facing Camelback mountain. A portion of the hillside is partially carved away to sink the driveway into the site. This desert lot creates a microclimate around the house for roses and many other tropical plants. The maintenance is easy and native desert plants provide dramatic beauty.
Persons associated with the property include: Tom Orchard (landscape architect); Robert Taylor (architect); James P. Dawson (horticulturist); Steve Gustafson (landscape designer); Nancy Swanson (photographer and researcher).
