General
Mrs. Jonathan Fairchild Butler chaired the planning committee for the show. She created the idea for the Model Main Street and made the plan for the exhibit. The exhibit was awarded the Gold Medal of the International Flower Show, the New York Flower Show Medal of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc. (to the Garden Club of America), and an inscribed silver platter from the Duropean Travel Commission. Mrs. Butler also received the Garden Club of America Medal of Merit.
