General

Florence Yoch and Lucille Council worked as consultants with Myron Hunt on the entrance driveway, court and reflective pool terrace for F.W. Emery. The rose swagged, curving balustrade on the forecourse establishes a boundary from which to view the spacious lawns. Along the side axis from the main house is a sunken, relfective pool garden, resonant with associations from the design Lutyens used for Tudor mansions. Native oaks surround the pool and a white Lady Banks rose climbs over the house. Persons associated with the house and garden design include: Florence Yoch and Lucille Council (landscape architect, 1927) and Myron Hunt and H.C. Chambers (architect, 1927).
