Biographical / Historical

"The Durrand-Hedden House was the 18th century homestead of Obadiah Hedden. In 1977 the property was purchased by the Township of Maplewood. The restoration of the Durand-Hedden House was done by historic restoration expert William McMillen of Richmondtown Restoration, Staten Island." The name of the house was then changed from the "The Ripley House" to the Durand-Hedden House, in honor of Henry Durand, the most renowned resident, and Obadiah Hedden, the first-known owner and occupant."
