General
"This attractive white manor house, built in 1740, is well named. The visitor climbs through a thick wood to reach lofty Mount Air and its superb view of the Potomac." This is how the property was described in a 1953 garden tour program. It was noted for its boxwood garden and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
