General
Little is known about this garden other than that it was apparently located on Corey Lane in Mendham. The number 1759, visible on image NJ413001, may indicate the date of the house's initial construction. Molly Adams lived nearby on Kennaday Road [Adams spelled it Kenneday on her personal letterhead], so this is probably a neighbor's property. Daylilies, hollyhocks (Alcea), and other traditional plantings predominated, while an arbor provided a comfortable transition from the street to the house. The photographs were probably taken between 1960 and 1980.
