General

A 225 acre estate, including about three acres of flower and vegetable gardens, Tredinnock was the summer home of Frederick W. and Carrie Sperry Beinecke. The gardens were largely the work of landscape gardener George E. Wright, who created them on a previously uncultivated site. Features included borders of annuals and perennials, a cut-stone terrace, many potted plants and hanging baskets, flowering shrubs, and a plastic-covered lath house. A highlight was a sunken garden outlined in native field stone.
Persons associated with the garden include: George E. Wright (landscape gardener, ca. 1950-1977) and Frederick W. and Carrie Sperry Beinecke (former owners, before 1977).
